One-off builds · Engineered from scratch · On camera
What if?
Why not.
What If Garage builds vehicles with no precedent: a tube-chassis EcoBoost Camry with its own operating system, a rally-spec family minivan, a Miata wearing a BMW face. Every system gets questioned, engineered and documented.
Drag Monster Camry · CAMRY-OS
Anyone can swap a head unit.
Not everyone can write the infotainment system from the ground up, then design the vehicle network it lives on. The Camry runs CAMRY-OS: navigation, vehicle data, climate, media and more, built from scratch for one car.
- Two onboard computers on an isolated battery
- Four CAN buses plus LIN
- Custom body control module
- BMW F10 steering column in a 1991 Camry
- Camera views tied to the turn signals
- Managed shutdown at key-off

The shop
Building the building first
The shop is being built from the ground up and documented the same way as the cars: why 20 × 40, why stick frame over steel, why its own 200 A service, and why every tool on the list earned its spot.

How we build
More than upgrades
01
One-offs only
No replicas. Each build answers a question nobody else has.
02
Wolves in sheep's clothing
Comfort stays, NVH is managed, and the car still has to drive home.
03
Chosen by elimination
Major parts earn their place against real alternatives.
04
If it breaks, it gets fixed
A simple warranty, because the build quality backs it up.
One-off builds
Vehicles with no direct precedent. If it's already been done, it isn't a What If build.
Electronics & software
Not head unit swaps. Ground-up infotainment, vehicle networks and custom control modules.
Fabrication & composites
Scan-to-mold carbon fiber and chassis work, made to look factory.
Documented builds
Every decision recorded and every build filmed, so the work is useful beyond the car.
Follow along
Every build is on camera
The engineering decisions, the bench testing, the fabrication and the mistakes. Follow along as each build comes together.
